A sharing club, not a rental agency

Nauti-Club boats at the quay, Lausanne

The concept

You have the Swiss lake licence (cat. A). You want to go out, without buying a boat and without renting by the hour. You join the club, you take a pack for the season, you book, you go out. The boat is yours for the day.

Who we are

Nauti-Club is an association founded in June 2019, not a rental agency. Three people who love the lake (Adrien, Alex and Franck) wanted a simple model: boats that are maintained, insured and ready to go, and a limited number of users — so that everyone can actually go out.

How it works

1

You choose a pack: a number of trips for the whole season.

2

You take part in a familiarisation session (boat handling, how the club and the booking app work).

4

You take the boat, you go out, you refill, you put it back clean in its place.

A trip = Your day

Whether you go out for 2 h, 4 h or the whole day, you decide! Hours: from 9 am to sunset.

If you change your mind, you cancel in time. That way someone else can go out.

Why it’s limited

Nauti-Club shares four boats over the season. When one boat is booked, there’s often a spot on another — and it’s rare that all four are full at the same time.

To avoid saturation, we limit the club’s number of users by sizing it against weekends and public holidays in the season. We don’t sell more packs than this calendar can absorb, with a margin for the unexpected. That’s what makes it possible, in practice, for everyone to use the trips in their pack.

Sharing is also this: we share the boats when they’re ready, and we share the periods when a boat is in for repair. The user limit protects your right to go out on the fleet, not just one boat.

You don’t look after the boat

Upkeep, breakdowns, boat insurance: that’s the club.

You keep your personal third-party liability insurance, as usual.

When you join the club

You get access to the boats, the familiarisation session and online booking. You do not get a vote at the club’s general meeting. We do invite every user to send us ideas to improve the concept.
